I love making lampshades and working with translucence and light. 

 

All the frames are from used shades dug up at junk stores, yard sales, and antique shops.  I try to use as much recycled fabric as I can - old party dresses or found fabric.  All the other fabrics I picked up because they were just too pretty to pass by.  The trimming is new, just because it's almost impossible to find anything used which is in good shape.

 

In the photos below, I've tried to include images of the lamp both lit and unlit.  In the cases where there is only one shot, it's not that the lampshade looks bad lit, it's just that I haven't been able to get a good picture of it.  My fault, not the lampshade's.
